IOP in July

This was our July trip to IOP. We went to play on the beach after dinner, around 7:00. The beach os so still and quiet at that time!! Lilly May found a (dead) crab that she felt was a true treasure. She and Joe drew in the sand, and she played in the dunes. The beach is the healthiest place to play. Aldret takes the best naps on the beach!!!

Swimming Lessons

Lilly May finished swimming lessons last week, and they were a huge success. Aunt Nancy and Miss Samantha taught Lilly May, Amelia, and Reese. The girls did great! Lilly May learned to float on her back, blow bubbles, go under water, and much more. The biggest accomplishments were that she does not hug the stairs anymore in the pool, and she does not lose it if she goes under water. Her quote for the 2 weeks was, "I'm not ready yet!!" Aunt Nancy handled her so well, saying "Well get ready" or "But I think you ARE ready". They are 2 peas in a pod! Their treat the last day was a ride in a CLEMSON golf cart! We told her that the only reason it was ok her our daughter to ride in that cart was because they had been so PATIENT with her during lessons. It was totally orange!!

We are all so happy on the water!!

Wagon ride

Lilly May and her buddy, Halle, on a wagon ride down the dock. They were finding oyster shells between the boards and throwing them in the water with Joe.

Jaybird

Joe took Lilly May down to the end of the dock...she insisted on stripping down because she wanted to get in the water!! He was able to change her mind.

Lilly May is enjoying popcorn at the top of the swing set. She was having an absolute blast!

July 4th

We celebrated July 4th at the James Island Yacht Club again this year with our friends Brad and Angela and their two girls. Aldret chilled the whole time. Their was a great breeze coming off the harbor and she was loving that fresh air.

Danette and Juliette

Danette and Ju-Ju came to visit and play. Ju-Ju is a hoot, and quite the sport!

Swimming

Big girl Lilly May swimming in the pool. She would stay in there all day if we let her!

The Hammock

Lilly May, Addie, and Baby Margaret on the hammock. They are great friends!!

Beach House

We went to IOP for a week in June, and we all loved it! Birdie, Biggie, Aunt Abbey, & Cass were there with us all week. Uncle Toto, D, & Reid came as they could. Aldret slept very well on the beach, and enjoyed her dips in the pool. Lilly May definately prefers the pool at this point, but did have fun on the beach with her playmates.

Pool Party

Beginning of June...This was our first family trip to Aunt Abbey and Uncle Toto's neighborhood pool. The babies both got in, and Lilly May loved the kiddie pool!!

Rainbows on the South Toe River (Mt. Mitchell)

Just another day on the South Toe River at Mt. Mitchell. I have come to love fly fishing in the Mountains of North Carolina. This is probably the largest Rainbow trout I have ever seen, let alone caught.

Lilly May's lipstick

Lilly May LOVES lipstick! When she doesn't have a real tube handy, she will make do with markers, chalk, or just about anything. She didn't think the black marker would actually make her lips black. She thought this was real funny!

Cousins

Lilly May is holding the babies. We just love Baby Cass! He and Aldret have a special bond!

Aldret Smiles

I just love this picture of Aldret smiling. How do I rotate this picture? She is cooing, reaching purposefully, and smiling a lot.

May 16th was "The wedding"

Gi-Gi and Paw Paw renewed their wedding vows on May 16th. They have been married for 60 years! The girls were both so good! Lilly May was 'working' the room and meeting many new friends. She was complimenting ladies on their dresses, and begging unsuspecting guests to get her some food. Lilly May told me, "I love my wedding!" She was a hoot. Aldret was a breeze.

More wedding

The ceremony was so sweet and the reception was very nice! When they were saying their vows, Lilly May was trying to get the groom's attention with "Hey Paw Paw!"
